LOCKDOWN MUSIC TO HELP LIFT THOSE WHO FEEL LET DOWN
Living up to its own #‘slaythefeartie’ promise, the new charity #Iwasgonnae used the December and January Lockdown to produce podcasts and shake, rattle and roll-out an album of its own. It is shaping up brilliantly and will soon be a cracking download. Orchestrated by musical genius, David Duffy, it features well-kent songs by Scots artists given a dramatic new lease of life by an eclectic and disparate, but talented, set of musicians – all from remote locations. From a cellist at the Scottish Conservatoire to a host of talented young aspirants and ageing rockers its making has simply required people to say: ‘Aye, why not?
The album fits with the charity’s use of music to engage, involve and excite people who feel life has let them down. From shaking a cereal packet at home to seeing the results of your efforts recorded at a studio – our virtual musical experience journey is not just a boost to confidence and self-belief, it connects people of all abilities and empowers people with skills they didn’t know they had. No matter your ability, here at I Was Gonnae we believe in you, we want to create the next generation of gallus people – ready to ‘slay the feartie’.
